ideas for student poster

I don't think the vast majority of these photos come across as very student-life-y. The black and white ones look more student and thought out that the rest of the photos I took

The above picture of the city hall and the top of a Merry-Go-Round
is more of a picture than a poster, it doesn't look like it would suit
text. Also the tower is very domineering - almost making the fun
Merry-Go-Round look bad, it also has a more university feel
The glass sweets, although colourful and interesting looking,
again look more picture than poster, also the amount of sweets
make the picture very busy - making it unsuitable for text,
unless its small in a corner, doesn't work for posters

The picture of the bumper cars has a large empty space in the bottom left corner where writing could easily be fitted. The picture is bright and colourful, suggestive of youth and fun. Bumper cars are also very popular with younger generations

The above picture of a student taking photographs is
not suitable for a poster, despite content and positioning
working well with the theme, the background is
possibly too busy overall.

I really like this edit (and the one below) as it leaves the audience guessing - the people are anonymous. Plus the colors or outlines are the most important feature - suggestive of personalities?

The merry-go round embodies fun - it therefore would be a good photo for the poster, as students (in theory) have lots of fun.

I'm not sure the black-and-white would work for the more 'fun' element most student adverts tend to advertise; saturated colour may suggest fun more.
